Set in the stunning and historically rich city of Geneva, known as the Peace Capital of the world, Joffrey Switzerland’s program offers an extraordinary opportunity to bridge the worlds of Classical and Contemporary dance. Students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the professional dance world, igniting their passion and exploring new opportunities with a strong emphasis on professionalism and excellence.
This program emphasizes mastery of both Classical and Contemporary techniques, with daily classes in Classical Ballet, Contemporary Ballet, Neoclassical Rep on Pointe, Contemporary dance, as well as pre-pointe and pointe strengthening. Each day is complemented by specialized conditioning sessions, Pilates and Progressing Ballet Technique. These classes are structured to enhance technique, prevent injury, foster body awareness, develop new neural pathways, and develop the body into a refined tool, setting the students up for success in the professional world of dance with a powerful and refined foundation. Select classes will feature piano accompaniment from renowned musician Ray Leslee who accompanies the JBS NYC Trainee and Open Class programs.
Under the guidance of our dedicated and highly experienced faculty, including working professionals and seasoned Joffrey instructors, you’ll receive precise mentorship and high-quality education. This week will encourage hard work, self-reflection, and deep analysis of your individual strengths, all aimed at enhancing your performance and building a resilient, strong technique.

Joffrey Akron is a rigorous two-week multi-genre intensive which focuses on the study of technique across multiple genres. Dancers will have the opportunity to improve technique, artistry, versatility, and overall stamina in preparation for the fall dance season. Train with world-class Joffrey faculty in an intimate and nurturing environment, where you are sure to see major improvement in a short amount of time. A weekly seminar on anatomy for dancers and injury prevention will be taught by Artistic Director Colleen Barnes. For those who wish to stay on campus, the dormitory and dining hall are conveniently within walking distance of the dance building, making it easy for dancers to take a short walk among these three buildings and experience life on campus at the University of Akron.

Joffrey Midwest is a dynamic, rigorous and immersive program combining Ballet Kontemp, Jazz, and Contemporary genres. Under the artistic direction of Meg Paul, students work with a group of world-renowned faculty who fully invest in shaping a dancer’s technique and artistry through exceptional instruction, coaching, and mentoring. Ballet Kontemp, Meg Paul’s stylized approach to contemporary ballet, combines classical ballet and contemporary techniques to enrich, encourage, and empower dancers. Students take Ballet Kontemp class as their first class of the day. They then split into two concentrations based on ability & age. Dancers are able to select a preference during registration which will be taken into consideration during placement. Depending on ability dancers may have exposure to both concentrations during the day.
- Ballet Kontemp Concentration: classes comprised of Pointe Kontemp, masterclasses, and Ballet Kontemp Repertory.
- Jazz & Contemporary Concentration: classes comprised of Jazz and Contemporary classes, masterclasses, and Jazz and Contemporary repertory.
All students are introduced to a Rooted Jazz: The Diasporic Encounter Method masterclass with Joffrey Midwest guest artist Monique Haley.
The program culminates with a showcase performance featuring students in Ballet Kontemp, Jazz, and Contemporary Repertory.

The Joffrey Las Vegas Ballet Summer Intensive is designed to provide dancers with a comprehensive week of ballet training, encompassing the rich history of the Joffrey Ballet while exploring the evolution of ballet in the 21st century. The New York City Pre-Professional Contemporary Intensive is the newest addition to the Summer at Joffrey Ballet School! Artistic Director of the Joffrey Concert Group, Bradley Shelver, leads the intensive, immersing dancers ages 14-25 in the experience of life as a professional in the world of contemporary, concert dance.
Mornings begin with daily technique classes with a contemporary approach, based in Limon, Graham, Horton, Taylor and ballet. Afternoons are focused on contemporary repertoire, where students learn the work of today’s most recognizable choreographers and their unique compositions set on companies across the world, including the Joffrey Concert Group. Connect with professional dancers, choreographers, rehearsal directors, répétiteurs, and Artistic Directors, as they bring their unique creative process to life throughout the week.
Family and friends are invited to join an informal showing at the end of each week for a glimpse into the studios at the work developed by the choreographers.

Joffrey San Francisco will immerse dancers in the world of contemporary ballet and concert dance. Students will be encouraged to move in new ways and reach beyond the purely classical form of ballet. Daily ballet and pointe classes will enforce a strong technical base, in addition to contemporary ballet, modern, and contemporary dance classes and repertoire that support discovery and freedom within the technical form. Our faculty is composed of working professionals, instructors, and choreographers who are prominent in the sphere of concert dance, leading our students with expertise, refinement, and mentorship.
Dancers attending both weeks (July 21 – August 2) of the program have the opportunity to join our performance, which will take place on Saturday, August 2. Dancers who are not participating in the performance will end on Friday, August 1.

Nestled in the campus of the Kennesaw State University, the Joffrey South Jazz & Contemporary Intensive is the ideal setting for the student who wishes to have an intimate, supportive, and rigorous training experience while simultaneously living on an iconic historic college campus. Students are challenged on a daily basis and given the tools they need to grow beyond their expectations.
The core curriculum of the Jazz & Contemporary Intensive includes daily classes in jazz, modern/contemporary, hip hop, and conditioning, with ballet technique classes 1-4 days per week. For dancers participating in the last week of the intensive, the program will culminate with a fully produced theater performance, giving the students a well-deserved sense of accomplishment for their summer studies.

Joffrey Colorado is an intimate program dedicated to an immersive study of ballet. The Joffrey Miami Ballet Intensive is designed to hone in on technique through intense individual attention. The dancers will be given an opportunity to make serious improvements to their ballet technique, working on hip rotation, placement, articulation of the foot, the connections of head, arm, hand, body and foot, musicality and theatricality.
The day will begin with body conditioning, followed by a Ballet barre, center, and grande allegro; Pointe, Variations, and Pas de Deux. Flamenco, Ballet Repertory, and a Modern Dance class will also be included in their daily course of study to round out the dancers movement vocabulary.

The NYC Musical Theater Summer Intensive provides the ultimate Broadway experience in New York City! Led by Artistic Directors Matthew Prescott and Maximilien Baud, the program offers training in dancing, singing, and acting, direct from world-renowned performers who have starred in Broadway’s greatest shows. Each week, students will be assigned to learn choreography inspired by one of the following Broadway shows: The Lion King or Wicked in Week 1, Boop or Hell’s Kitchen in Week 2, The Lion King, Hell’s Kitchen, or Smash in Week 3, and Wicked, & Juliet, or Smash in Week 4. The New York City Ballet Intensive captures the foundation that built the Joffrey Ballet School, developing young classical dancers into expressive, diverse professional artists.
Artistic Directors Era Jouravlev & Jo Matos lead a program designed for students 8-25, seeking the complete ballet education. Morning classes build and refine a strong foundation in ballet technique, pointe, variations, and partnering. Afternoons expand the repertoire, broadening into styles including modern, classical and contemporary ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, world dance, kinetics, injury prevention and more.
Students can choose to register for the non-performance or performance track. The performance track culminates in a fully produced performance following a three-week rehearsal process that guides students from studio to stage, performing classical and contemporary works at a renowned theater in New York City on Friday, July 18, 2025. To participate in the performance track, students must attend at least the last three weeks (June 30 – July 18) of the intensive.
Work directly with our year-round Joffrey Ballet School faculty, renowned guest instructors, and working choreographers whose extensive experience will elevate a dancer’s training to the next level.
