Check in will be on Friday December 27 from 8:30 am – 9:00 am. You will receive a printed copy of your schedule, and your name tag. Please wear your name tag for every class so our faculty can get to know you throughout the workshop.

Schedules will be available one week prior to the start of the workshop.

Joffrey Ballet School is committed to providing an inclusive environment for all students. Non-gender conforming students, students with religious and cultural considerations and any students who need additional support are welcome to contact us to discuss the dress code. Please contact our Customer Support department with any dress code questions and/or concerns.

Dress Code for female-identifying performers

• Musical Theater & Jazz: Colored leotards and tight t-shirts permissible. Jazz pants, black tights or fishnet tights. Flexible character shoes of the Laduca variety are encouraged. Jazz shoes or sneakers are permissible. General appearance should be tidy. Students should approach each day as if they are preparing for an audition.
• Acting & Vocal: Relaxed outfits that allow physicality and movement. Joffrey sweatpants and other Joffrey warm up clothes are recommended. Students will not be allowed to be in their street clothes for these classes.
• Clothes should be tight fitting. No baggy/sloppy clothes are permitted.
• Performance: Please bring your “Best Black” outfit to wear for the informal showing.

The workshop will present an informal studio performance that will showcase an original musical production number created by Dee Tomassetta.

Sunday, December 29, 2024 | 3:15 pm – 4:00 pm

Joffrey Ballet School – Manhattan

The workshop will present two 20 minute showings. A form will be sent to students and parents during the workshop to sign up for the performance.

No parents, guardians or visitors are allowed to watch class. All students must be dropped off outside, in front of the building entrance.

• Students 13 and younger are not allowed to leave a Joffrey Ballet School building without a guardian.
• Students 14 and older are allowed to leave the building during lunch breaks, but must travel with other students who are also 14 and older.
• Students 13 and younger will not be allowed to leave the building with students 14 and older.
• Parents are welcome to drop off meals for their students at the studio.

There will be no escorted trips during lunch breaks to/from the studios. Students must pack a lunch and snacks to eat between meals.

Joffrey Ballet School does not offer a studio lunch plan or student housing for the Musical Theater workshop.

The Administrative team consists of Program Managers, Coordinators and Administrative Assistants who work with the Director of Operations and Artistic Directors at the studios. The team facilitates daily operations and handles crises or emergencies should they arise.

Please spend time learning the sheet music and be prepared to sing it upon arrival at the workshop. Students need to bring a physical or digital copy of the music to the workshop. 

No, Joffrey Ballet School will not be offering any extra activities in NYC.
