New York City Musical Theater Summer Intensive
The Musical Theater Intensive provides the ultimate Broadway experience in New York City! Led by Artistic Directors Matthew Prescott and Maximilien Baud, the program offers training in dancing, singing, and acting, direct from world-renowned performers who have starred in Broadway’s greatest shows. Together with unique performance opportunities each week, the Musical Theater Intensive is one you do not want to miss!
Week 1 & Week 3
Students attending these weeks will be assigned to a Broadway musical. They will work with Broadway stars to rehearse the original music and inspired choreography for a production number from the show that they will perform at a theater at the end of each week. Students will also attend the musical for the Broadway show that they are assigned to. Broadway musicals for Week 1 include Lion King and Moulin Rouge. Broadway musicals for Week 3 include & Juliet, Wicked, and Hamilton.
Week 2 & Week 4
Students attending these weeks will take part in a rehearsal process and production for Mean Girls Jr (Week 2) and Matilda Jr (Week 4). The programming for these two weeks will include two technique classes in the morning, followed by rehearsals for Junior productions. More information on how to audition for lead roles will be announced soon. All students attending Week 2 and Week 4 will take part in our fully produced Junior productions. All students in Week 2 and Week 4 will attend a Broadway musical and participate in a masterclass during the week; MJ (Week 2) and The Wiz (Week 4).
Week 5
For our final week this summer we will present the 2nd Joffrey Musical Theater’s Got Talent show. A live event where students from around the world will perform and compete to present an evening of all things musical theater. Participating in the talent show is not mandatory, but all students attending the final week will perform in large scale production numbers alongside the contestants as they battle it out for the 2024 JMTGT champion. Winners will receive prizes, including scholarships. Students will participate in a full day of classes. All students in Week 5 will attend a Broadway musical during the week, Hadestown, and participate in a masterclass.

The Residence Halls are located in prime Manhattan locations that are within short travel distance from Times Square, Central Park, the Brooklyn Bridge and more. Our live-in Housing staff are available to students and parents 24 hours a day and assist by providing support and guidance at the dorm and studio. Students can sign up for an escort to and from the studio.

Joffrey Musical Theater’s Got Talent
The NYC Musical Theater Intensive will produce a talent show competition that will showcase the talent of our incredible students. The events and selection process will take place during the final week (Week 5) of the intensive and culminate in a final live show on July 12.
