Abigail Schulze
RESIDENT ADVISOR/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Abby Schulze (She/Her) is a dance educator and creator based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to college, Abby trained for thirteen years under Alexis Kozar at N-Step Dance Academy in Suwanee, Georgia. Along with choreographing ensemble and solo pieces at N-Step Dance Academy, she instructed ballet, jazz, tap, and lyrical classes from 2017-2022. From 2020-2021, Abby interned as the Executive Marketing Assistant for the Traverse City Dance Project under Brent Whitney and Jennifer McQuiston Lott, and with the Joffrey Ballet School as an Administrative Assistant and Resident Advisor during their 2022 summer season. Abby is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management and Leadership at the University of Georgia. Through the UGA Dance Department, she performed in the 2021 Young Choreographer’s Showcase, the 2022 and 2023 UGA Spring Company Concerts, and debuted her original choreographic work, Crepuscular, in the 2022 Young Choreographer’s Showcase. In January of 2023, she opened for the Martha Graham Dance Company alongside other UGA students in Athens, Georgia with her performance of Martha Graham’s original “Steps In the Street.” She now teaches hip hop, ballet, jazz, and acrobatics at The Studio Athens and is a founding company member of the Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company under Artistic Director Lauren Overstreet. Abby is thrilled to be returning for her second summer season with the Joffrey Ballet School, and she looks forward to facilitating education and creation through arts administration.
