The Joffrey Ballet School is seeking an Artistic Director to lead it’s pre-professional Trainee Program in Plano, Texas. This highly motivated individual must have an extensive background in dance education and performance. This position directs both divisions of our Ballet & Jazz & Contemporary dancers so knowledge and enthusiasm for different genres of dance is required along with the ability to curate a program that allows dancers in each genre to excel.

Joffrey Ballet School Dancer Health & Wellness Office
Joffrey Ballet School is seeking a hard-working, organized, and detail-oriented individual interested in pursuing a career in dancer health. This is a rare opportunity to intern in the field of dancer health, which makes this internship specifically valuable to those required to complete a full-time internship in the Health and Wellness field in order to obtain a college/university degree.
Intern Application Details & Process
Candidates must supply proof of completion or current study in both Dance and Health fields. Significant dance background required; Previous dance experience could include lifelong training, summer intensives, professional training programs, etc. Ideal applicant is a student or graduate of the Health Promotion, Public Health, Sports Science or similar major/minor with current CPR and First Aid certification.
The Health Intern will be expected to act as a role model by following and promoting all COVID-19 protocols that include, but are not limited to adhering to social distancing, wearing face masks and required personal protective equipment, participating in routine testing and completing quarantine/isolation periods when deemed necessary. COVID-19 vaccination will be required for all JBS employees deemed medically eligible for vaccination. Official contract dates may be shortened or cancelled based on the status of the COVID-19 pandemic and/or the outcome of enrollment.
Possible duties include but are not limited to the following
- Assist Health and Wellness Coordinator with daily duties ranging from filling ice packs, conducting health and wellness checks, tracking attendance, and acting as a Teacher Assistant for Dance Science courses.
- Develop the JBS Dancer Health Bulletin Board content.
- Daily illness and injury monitoring and support, while providing first aid and general wellness recommendations to ill and injured students. Meet with students for health insurance and medical referral assistance.
- Escort students to and from medical appointments.
- Observe student health and wellness meetings and collaborate with Health and Wellness
Coordinator on plans of action.
- Attend faculty meetings and assist in presentation of illness/injury log.
- Compilation and distribution of healthy recipes recommended for JBS dancers.
- Assist with COVID-19 compliance duties as needed, including but not limited to entry screening, sanitization, promoting and enforcing protocols, etc.
- Assist students with problems and communicate sensitive information effectively.
- Work with staff to ensure the well-being of students and a positive atmosphere.
- Enforce and assist with all COVID-19 protocols.
- Perform contact tracing for COVID-19 exposure incidences. This includes contacting all parties involved to gather information, relaying information to all supervisors, and contacting the Department of Health to report the instance.
- Communicate with parents as necessary and as directed.
- Flexibly and proactively support the needs of the students, staff, and School.
The Health and Wellness Coordinator will select candidates to participate in an interview.

Interview
Candidates must review the information packet for the position they are interested in before their interview.The one-on-one interview is an opportunity for the candidate to introduce themselves, review their resume/experience and ask questions about the position/company.
For RA and AA positions, the company is specifically interested in reviewing the candidate’s residence life/child care and administrative experience, as well as their artistic interests and background. Other topics could include diversity, community development, customer service, teamwork, policies and protocol as well as situational questions.
For the Health & Wellness position the H&W Coordinator is interested in reviewing the candidate’s clinical administrative experience, as well as expertise in biomedicine, psychology, and anatomy/physiology. A background (personal or professional) in dance and the performing arts is preferred, but not necessary. Must be comfortable in a high volume clinical setting, and sensitive to topics including trauma, injuries, and mental health.
