Ainsley McDonald (She/Her) is originally from Marietta, Georgia, and began her formal dance training at age seven at a local studio, the British Academy of Performing Arts (BAPA), under the direction of Marsha Newton and Marina Levasheva. There, she trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, and hip-hop, performing many soloist roles. Currently finishing up her BFA in Contemporary Dance at UNCSA, Ainsley has had the opportunity to study under renowned faculty such as Ming Lung Yang, Brenda Daniels, Sean Sullivan, and Abigail Yager and has performed works from Jose Limon, Juel D. Lane, Gaspard Louis, Ashley Lindsey, Merce Cunningham, Mariana Oliviera, and Igal Perry. In the summer of 2022, Ainsley had the opportunity to work as Head Resident Advisor/Administrative Assistant at Joffrey South, as well as on the intern staff in the summer of 2021. She is so excited to be with Joffrey once again this summer in New York City. As a previous Joffrey summer intensive student, Ainsley loves getting to work on the operation behind the scenes and thrives on working in Arts Administration. She hopes to further her work in Arts Administration in the future.
