Camryn Stafford
Camryn Stafford hails from Dallas, TX where she credits the beginning of her dance education to Dallas Black Dance Theater and Booker T. Washington HSPVA. Camryn is a graduate of Princeton University and is a NYC-based dancer, choreographer, teacher, and company manager. In 2017, Camryn founded Turning Tables, a non-profit organization that brings attention to discriminatory practices in dance and increases dance accessibility for all. Camryn’s undergraduate dance thesis, “There She Is” was awarded Outstanding Creative Work and The Toni Morrison Prize at Princeton University. Camryn has studied dance at Dallas Black Dance Theater, the Alvin Ailey School, the Dance Theatre of Harlem, the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and the Joffrey Ballet School. She has danced in several choreographic projects by Urban Bush Women, Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE, Peter Chu, and Francesca Harper. Camryn’s choreographic work has premiered at Booker T. Washington HSPVA, Theater Intime, McCarter Theater Center, and Mignolo Arts Center. She is a 2024-2025 CUNDY Dance Initiative Choreographer in Residence. Camryn has held positions with the Dance Institute of Washington, A.I.M by Kyle Abraham, the Joffrey Ballet School, the Misty Copeland Foundation, and Camille A. Brown & Dancers.
