Emily Dail is a New York City based dancer with a huge passion for movement and
community. Originally from Charleston, SC, Emily danced at Charleston County School of
the Arts and Creative Edge Dance Center. Upon moving to NYC, Emily attended
Marymount Manhattan College getting her BFA in Dance, and performed in works including
Peter Chu’s. Most recently, Emily had the honor of assisting Chelsea Thedinga for the work,
Indefinitely Now, set on the Joffrey NYC Jazz and Contemporary Trainees. Emily feels
deeply grateful to call Thedinga her mentor, and to have also assisted and danced in
Thedinga’s work, I’ll Look Around, for the Steps on Broadway Performance Project.
Emily has also recently assisted several dance workshops such as Stacey Tookey’s
NYC Protege, assisted Lucy Vallely for the CLI Intensive, CLOUDE’s Cumul:us Events,
Anneke Hansen’s Educational Training and Luminous Dance Convention! Emily recently
performed Anna Marchisello’s work, Lick the Light Out, for Stacey Tookey’s Bridge
Showcase. She also was in Marchisello’s dance films, Full of Life and We Have To Be Friends
as well as Emily Greenwell’s dance films, Blinker, Precious, Strangers, and The Light is Where
You Shine It. She also currently teaches at Broadway Dance Center’s Children and Teen
Program and Downtown Dance Factory. Emily feels so grateful to be living her dream in
NYC, and hopes to root her classes in exploration, expansiveness and community. She
strives for her students to feel seen, excited to explore their own creativity, and to help
them achieve their dreams as well.
