Karilyn Farr is from Baltimore, Maryland, and is currently pursuing a BFA in dance and a BA in communications and media studies at Montclair State University. She has a diverse training background in cultural and classical dance styles, training at Baltimore School for the Arts and Alvin Ailey summer intensives on full scholarships. Some of her performance repertoire includes George Balanchine’s Serenade, Stephanie Martinez’s Kiss, Paul Taylor’s Cloven Kingdom, Darrell Grand Moultrie’s Jazzin, and Kyle Abraham’s When We Take Flight. Additionally, she has experience teaching ballet, pointe, modern, and contemporary dance to students of various ages. Notably, Karilyn brings valuable administrative experience from her role as an administrative intern at an IT company, where she demonstrated skills in calendar management, document organization, event coordination, customer service, and database management. Her high-energy approach, organizational skills, and passion for creating a safe environment for students to share art make her a well-rounded resident and administrative assistant in the fast-paced summer intensive setting.
