Kennedy Cole

Hanro Janse van Rensburg

RESIDENT ADVISOR/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Kennedy Cole (They/Them) is a Senior at the University of Akron (UA), currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and certificate in Professional Social Media. They are a native of Upstate NY where they studied ballet, modern, and musical theater from elementary, through high school. While at UA, they have had the privilege of working with artists such as Bebe Miller, Micaela Taylor, David Shimotakahara, and most recently performed alongside Monica Bill Barnes. Through these experiences they have become increasingly interested in digital media, and pursuing a career in contemporary dance and composition. Their premiere college work “I See Her Face” was featured in the 2021 University of Akron Fall Showcase, and chosen for this year’s ACDA East Central Gala performance. Along with their studies in dance and social media marketing, Kennedy has also worked as a resident assistant at UA for two years. It’s a fulfilling creative outlet, with opportunities to use their communication skills and support students in anything they need. Being able to combine their love of dance with the resident assistant role this summer, is a thrilling opportunity.
