Rosanne Soifer

Isabella Salant

Rosanne Soifer was born in New York City more years ago than she cares to admit. Her music career spans many areas, including composing, arranging, production, and playing the piano. Her journey began at the age of 15 when she played in a dance band and accompanied ballet classes. Rosanne graduated from Indiana University’s School of Music.

She has lectured extensively on music business and life skills at the college level. Her 2013 CD of piano arrangements of classic rock for ballet, titled Rock Your Ballet Class, was produced by dancer and studio owner Sally Tierney and is available through Capezio, Kimbo Catalog, and online. Rosanne has written for Pro Sound News, MIX, The Music Paper, and the blog AUDIO UNDONE. Her book Music in Video Production was published by Focal Press. She is also a paid contributor to the recently published MISS PAMELA’S WRITING SCHOOL FOR ELECTRIC LADIES (Riverdale Avenue Books).

In her so-called spare time, she posts on a Facebook page called “Pianists for Ballet Class,” where she shares her writings and rants on various dance and music topics. These rants also appear on her personal Facebook page. Her hobbies include crossword puzzles, homemaking, and ignoring national politics.

She lives in Brooklyn.
