Joffrey Midwest Summer Intensive
Joffrey Midwest is a dynamic, rigorous and immersive program combining Ballet Kontemp, Jazz, and Contemporary genres. Under the artistic direction of Meg Paul, students work with a group of world-renowned faculty who fully invest in shaping a dancer’s technique and artistry through exceptional instruction, coaching, and mentoring. Ballet Kontemp, Meg Paul’s stylized approach to contemporary ballet, combines classical ballet and contemporary techniques to enrich, encourage, and empower dancers. Students take Ballet Kontemp class as their first class of the day. They then have the option to split into two concentrations:
- Ballet Kontemp Concentration: classes comprised of Pointe Kontemp, masterclasses, and Ballet Kontemp Repertory.
- Jazz and Contemporary Concentration: classes comprised of Jazz and Contemporary classes, masterclasses, and Jazz and Contemporary repertory.
All students are introduced to a Rooted Jazz: The Diasporic Encounter Method masterclass with Joffrey Midwest guest artist Monique Haley.
The program culminates with a showcase performance featuring students in Ballet Kontemp, Jazz, and Contemporary Repertory.
